Big Belgian demonstration on 16 May 2010 in Brussels

About 3500 Flemish, Walloon and foreign demonstrators peacefully displayed their reprobation to Belgian politicians by marching from Brussels North Station to South Station - a great success considering that this demonstration was organised in less than two weeks!

Announcement of the 16 May Belgian demonstration

Meeting at 2pm at the North Station.
Departure at 3pm on Albert II Avenue (see map).
Arrival around 5pm at the South Station.

This street demonstration is essential to prevent the splitting of Belgium - and of Europe!

There are much more important matters in Belgium than linguistic problems, on witch politicians have been endlessly arguing for decades, forgetting true citizens needs - and the soon-to-come Belgian Presidency of the European Council.

While most Belgian citizens want to live in a united country, many lousy politicians push for a total spilt of Belgium. Splitting Belgium would be disastrous for both Flemish and Walloon economies.

Furthermore it would send a disastrous message to some other European regions. It may lead to the splitting of other countries such as Spain, making the European Union impossible to manage - and possibly bringing it to collapse!

Belgian politics need a real change - and that's what this demonstration calls for!
